Overlooking Monhegan Town

Each day during the week in July that I spent painting on Monhegan Island  I walked past this view as I went out to paint.  The road crested just before arriving at this point.  Even with the weight of my easel, paints, tripod, paint box and lunch in my back pack, I stopped to savor the view and think about all of those who have walked past it through the years, on their way to paint this beautiful island.
