Greetings from my painting blog...

unlike many years, September in Washington County coastal areas was fog and cloud bound for a good percent of the days this year.  Daryle and I had the opportunity to spend time enjoying the late summer weather, hiking, camping, and painting.  It was delightful to be on the coast in Washington County, to enjoy the quiet which inevitably descends with the fog and to take the time to paint.  Light which passes thru fog tends to take on a purple hue, which, along with the moisture, makes the yellows and oranges in the fields vibrant.

I have added four paintings completed during September at Petite Manan to my web.  Two are included here.  I invite you to take a look at all the paintings.  They can be found in the "Recent Works" grouping.  Also included in the collection of recent works are two pieces completed at Katahdin Lake Wilderness Camps in July and one from Schoodic Point in August.

As always, it is a treat to have painted this summer throughout Maine.  I appreciate the comments which folks leave when they visit my web site.  Enjoy the paintings and the fall colors which are unfolding around us.  I look for the weather to clear soon so I can get out and paint during the changing of the season.
