This is a quick note to let you know that I was chosen as one of the artists whose work will be highlighted in the 2020 Art Maine Annual Guide which comes out in January. That's so exciting!
I have been a bit remiss in keeping my web site, www.kaycarterpaints.com, up to date. As a result of the listing in Art Maine, I have been adding new work to the web site and will continue to do so for the next month or so. Take a minute or two to check out what's there.
Another item of interest: between now and the end of December, all cards, prints, and paintings in my Gallery, Long Time Sun, will be on sale for 10% off. With the sale of any paintings, cards, or prints based on images from Baxter State Park, I will donate 10% of the sale price to Friends of Baxter Park.
The Gallery is located in the back of my house in Hampden: 76 Main Road S. It is a working studio and gallery and is open by chance, by appointment, and when the 'Open' flag is flying at the end of the driveway. If you are in the neighborhood, stop in or call ahead (944-7814). As always, I love visitors to the Gallery.
As the holiday season arrives, with predictable cold here in Maine, I am constantly aware of the blessings which art brings into my life . I am also aware of those who struggle for enough food, safe housing, and a country which will welcome them as refugees, asylum seekers, people who have been forgotten. I see the impact of climate change and the rhetoric which divides us person to person. May each of us act from a space of love in all we do. Love for every individual on this planet, love for the plants and animals which sustain our world, love for the Universe with her beautiful, mysterious space and healing rhythms and energy.
We can do better.
